How to Grow Beetroot Microgreens at Home (Step-by-Step Guide)
Simple step-by-step guide for strong, healthy growth
-
🌱 Seeds: 30g
-
📦 Tray: 30×21 cm
-
🪴 Medium: Soil or Coir
-
🌡️ Temp: 25-27°C
Step 1 – Prepare your soil and seeds. Fill your tray with about 2–3 cm of soil, leaving a little
space at the top. Lightly moisten the soil before adding the seeds. You can soak
beet seeds for 8–12 hours to help them start faster, but it’s not required. Spread the
seeds evenly and gently press them into the soil, or cover them with a very thin
layer.
Step 2 –Germination. Cover the tray with another tray or a lid to keep the moisture in. Place
it in a warm, dark spot for 3–5 days. Keep the soil slightly moist by misting it. Don’t
let it dry out, but also don’t overwater.
Step 3 – Light and growth. Once the seedlings start to appear, remove the cover and move
the tray to a bright spot or under grow lights. Aim for about 4–6 hours of light each
day. Turn the tray daily so they grow straight and evenly.
Step 4 – Watering and care. Keep the soil lightly moist by misting or watering from the
bottom. Avoid too much water, as this can cause mold. A light, well-draining soil
mix will give you the best results.
Step 5 – Harvesting. Your beet microgreens are ready in about 2–3 weeks, when the first
real leaves appear. Cut them just above the soil with scissors. Best eaten fresh.
Perfect for salads, sandwiches, or as a garnish.
Enjoy!
